Open Your Eyes

January 31, 2020

Last week we opened the curtain, now to set the stage. This image is basically an interesting picture about nothing. There is no story, unless you bring one; it is a common unattractive southern scene that is altered by light. I absolutely love it and would live with it if Rachel would feel the same; unfortunately, she does not. We learned early on that our tastes on such things are extremely different, making for a let’s call it an “eclectic” dwelling.

This is probably a photographer’s photograph so I understand Rachel’s objection. To me this image is about the craft of learning to see and understanding how things change with circumstance. This was just a ditch with trash thrown in it, then the sun came up and made it special. I added nothing but presence and was aware enough to notice the transformation.
